- Background

As the world continues its zero-waste mission, businesses are rethinking their commercial waste strategies. From agencies to restaurants, paper stacks and food scraps mount up. And it only takes a few overflowing bins to start causing chaos in the streets (and start racking up additional costs).

Hills Waste Solutions understand these familiar challenges. Their reliable, flexible commercial waste service ensures companies in the public and private sector can keep on top of their rubbish responsibilities, affordably.

They also knew that there are customers out there dissatisfied with their current providers. So, they came to us for a fresh campaign to raise awareness of their first-class services and encourage customers to switch waste suppliers.

- The Challenge

While they boast an ‘excellent’ reputation on Trustpilot, Hills Waste Solutions had a low level of brand awareness. And the majority of prospective businesses already had their preferred waste collection service in place.

Encouraging business customers to switch to a company with little market presence was a tall order. But not an impossible one. So, we got to work, looking at how to incentivise switching to Hills and how to set the stage for an attractive offer.

- The Strategy

We looked at the sectors we could realistically target and win – Retail, Hospitality, Manufacturing, and Education. And created a range of creative deliverables that would cut through the noise (and the trash talking!) of other waste suppliers. We leant on the ‘excellent’ customer feedback Hills had built up and encouraged customers to rely on their flexible, personal service, already trusted by thousands.

On top of a full digital campaign, including social media assets, outbound emails, PPC and supporting sales docs, we created a number of captivating & illustrative scenes that Hills could use as consistent brand assets. These were rolled out everywhere, from their website to their bin lorries. The bold colours and vibrant styling create a memorable visual impact and also show the wide range of industries that Hills cover, from hotels to hairdressers.

 

- The Result

Hills were delighted with the campaign. And we were responsive in getting it just right for them. The project ran for 6 months with many iterations along the way, and we were keen to edit and refine at every stage, to create brand assets and illustrative elements that really aligned with their values and brief objectives.

We also made sure their eco-friendly waste trucks were first to receive the newly branded graphics, before rolling out the rest of the deliverables. Hills were extremely satisfied with our work and are now confident to go out there and collect new customers, as well as their waste!
