The Big Dog Art Trail for Julia’s House launches across Swindon.

The streets of Swindon are alive with families enjoying the trail and posing for Big Dog selfies. The latest charity branding propelled by Jazzbones Creative.

Thirty larger than life balloon dog sculptures – the Swindogs – have been unleashed all across Swindon for the biggest and most colourful event in the town in 2023.

The Big Dog Art Trail runs from 15 July to 3 September. The uniquely decorated sculptures create the UK’s first-ever balloon dog art trail and in the process raise essential funds for the local children’s hospice charity, Julia’s House.

The Big Dog Art Trail creates a free walking trail through some of Swindon’s most well-loved and historic parks, landmarks and streets and shines a light on art and culture in the heart of the town.

Julia’s House is not a typical children’s hospice. It provides practical and emotional support for families caring for a child with a life-limiting or life-threatening condition in Swindon and Wiltshire, providing frequent and regular support in their own homes, in the community or at their hospices.

Part of Jazzbones’ DNA is our support for the charity sector, Julia’s House being just the latest charity to benefit from our branding and design skills; we created the branding, designed the logo, and even came up with the name, Big Dog Art Trail.

Charities come in all shapes and sizes. Jazzbones has created fundraising campaigns for global charities like Bible Society and designed legacy advertising for Europe’s largest membership organization, the National Trust.

Nationally, we have created direct mail packs for ABF The Soldiers’ Charity, the army’s national charity, but we’ve also applied our creative skills to local charities like Wiltshire Air Ambulance and Prospect Hospice, helping them to punch above their weight in the Swindon and Wiltshire area with eye-catching branding and successful fundraising campaigns.

Whatever the size and substance of the charity, fundraising is never easy. Simply put, there are so many good causes out there tugging at the heartstrings and purse strings. At the last count, there were a scarcely believable 170,383 charities operating in England and Wales, the vast majority of them with good reasons to seek people’s support.

With so many charities doing such similar things they each have to look beyond their core work – however invaluable that may be – to find ways to attract donors. That’s where compelling branding and design from Jazzbones comes in, helping our charity clients stand out from the rest.

Nathan Sandhu, Founder of Jazzbones Creative, said: “We were thrilled when we were chosen to work on the branding and design work for The Big Dog Art Trail. It’s such a brilliant event to come to our home town of Swindon and as a team we wanted to get more involved with the trail so we decided we wanted to sponsor one of the Swindogs, too.”

“We’re in this project for the long run and will be supporting Julia’s House all the way. And we can’t wait to see the balloon dog sculptures all around Swindon!”

As for the design of the Jazzbones sponsored Big Dog which is located next to the Town Gardens bandstand,  here’s a clue – it will definitely be POP-ular!
