At Jazzbones Creative, we’ve always believed in the power of giving back to our community, and there’s no better way to do that than by supporting local charities that make a real difference. This year, we were thrilled to launch our FREE Website Makeover for Charities in Swindon and the South West—an opportunity for non-profit organisations to revamp their online presence and reach even more people with their amazing work. After receiving an overwhelming number of applications, we are excited to announce the three charities selected for this incredible offer:
- Voluntary Action Swindon (vas-swindon.org)
- The Bus Shelter Project (thebusshelterdorset.wordpress.com)
- Wicked Weather Watch (wickedweatherwatch.org.uk)
The Impact of a Strong Online Presence for Charities
In today’s digital age, a strong, well-designed website is critical for any organization, but it’s especially important for charities that rely on visibility to drive donations, recruit volunteers, and raise awareness about their causes. Unfortunately, many charities struggle to keep their websites updated or simply lack the resources to create an engaging digital platform. That’s where we at Jazzbones Creative saw an opportunity to help.
Nathan Sandhu, Founder and Creative Director at Jazzbones, expressed his excitement about the initiative:
“We were absolutely blown away by the response to our FREE website makeover offer. There are loads of great charities out there that are really struggling online at the moment, and it is a pleasure to pick the three successful applicants for this offer. Jazzbones’ ethos has always been about community and giving back when we can. We are really excited to be working with these charities—they all do amazing work, so watch this space to see the results.”
Meet the Winners
Let’s take a closer look at the three successful charities and the incredible work they do for our communities:
1. Voluntary Action Swindon (VAS)
Website: https://vas-swindon.org/
Voluntary Action Swindon is at the heart of the local community, providing essential support to charities and voluntary organisations across the region. Their mission is to empower and enable groups to make a lasting impact by offering advice, training, and practical support. Through the website makeover, we aim to enhance VAS’s ability to connect with more organisations and individuals who could benefit from their services. By creating a fresh, modern design, we’ll ensure their online presence is as impactful as the work they do every day.
2. The Bus Shelter Project
Website: https://thebusshelterdorset.wordpress.com/
The Bus Shelter Project, based in Dorset, provides vital support to the homeless by offering a safe, mobile shelter for those in need. Their innovative approach—using a converted bus to provide housing and services—has made a huge difference in the lives of the local homeless population. However, their current website lacks the functionality and visibility needed to further their cause. With our makeover, we’ll create a user-friendly, engaging platform that helps them raise awareness, increase donations, and share the success stories of the individuals they’ve helped.
3. Wicked Weather Watch
Website: https://wickedweatherwatch.org.uk/
Wicked Weather Watch works to educate and inspire young people about climate change, Arctic exploration, and global environmental challenges. By bringing real-world climate issues into classrooms across the UK, they’re fostering the next generation of environmental stewards. Through our website redesign, we plan to give Wicked Weather Watch the tools they need to reach even more schools, teachers, and students, creating a visually engaging platform that aligns with their educational mission and inspires action on climate change.
Why We Chose These Charities
With so many incredible applications, narrowing it down to just three was no easy task. However, these organisations stood out for their unique contributions to the community, their missions to create positive change, and their strong potential for growth through improved online visibility.
Each charity addresses a critical need in society, from community building and homelessness to climate education. By partnering with them, we’re helping to boost their ability to make a real difference. We chose these charities not only because of the remarkable work they do but also because we believe that a strong online presence will amplify their efforts and reach.
What’s Next?
Now that the winners have been selected, the real fun begins! Our team at Jazzbones Creative will work closely with each charity to create a bespoke website that reflects their brand, tells their story, and allows them to reach their goals. Each makeover will focus on user experience, mobile responsiveness, and accessibility, ensuring that their websites are not only beautiful but also functional and inclusive.
In the coming months, you can expect to see updates and showcases of the website transformations as they unfold. Stay tuned to our blog and social media channels for behind-the-scenes insights and the final reveals!
