3rd Edition Kitchens
A handcrafted identity for handcrafted kitchens.
Brand Strategy + Brand Identity + Graphic Design + Digital Strategy + Website Design + Photography
Jazzbones created a brand identity, website and brochures for 3rd Edition, a Swindon maker of bespoke kitchens and furniture. Rooted in the care and craft of its workshop, the work helped communicate the difference between a handmade commission and a production-line kitchen.
3rd Edition combines traditional artisan skills with advanced manufacturing technology. Its kitchens are carefully considered and individually made, so the brand needed to communicate that quality to customers comparing it with larger competitors and their bigger advertising budgets.
We shaped the identity around the same attention to detail that goes into the furniture. Clean lines referenced both contemporary kitchen design and the blade of a woodworking plane. A cut through the “3rd” echoed that process, while bronze and warm natural colours gave the identity a welcoming, domestic character.
The brand was carried into a mobile-responsive website and printed brochures. Together, they gave prospective customers a more coherent view of the business, its design approach and the quality behind its work.
Original photography was central to the project. We spent a day in the workshop documenting the people, materials and hands-on processes behind the finished furniture.
Used across the website and brochures, those photographs made the craftsmanship visible. The resulting image library also gave 3rd Edition authentic material to draw on for future marketing.
